Letter to Students 3-16-20

CalRegional Program Update

Dear CalRegional Students,

The CalRegional Administrative staff and I have spent this weekend monitoring the updates regarding COVID-19 on a local, state and national level. While neither the Governor, nor local officials have mandated school closures, we feel that the directives make it wise and prudent for us to postpone classes for the next two weeks and take our spring break early. Classes will be on break from Monday, March 16 at 1:00PM through Sunday, March 29. Classes are scheduled to resume Monday, March 30. The increasing concerns to protect the safety and health of our staff, students, instructors, and their families has led us to this decision.

If your class was scheduled to meet for the first time during this break, a new schedule will be provided to you in a subsequent email. If your class was scheduled to go online this week, classes will be postponed through March 29 as well. Some of our partner schools are also planning on postponing classes for additional days. Students who are impacted by this will be provided information in a subsequent email. Clinical externships will continue as long as the externship site continues to accept students.

If a change in your externship schedule has occurred, please notify your externship coordinator. CalRegional staff will continue to serve students by email and phone during normal business hours at (800) 927-5159. We stand together with all the doctors, nurses, medical assistants, and health care workers around the world in the fight against COVID-19.
